About Mary
Mary Sullivan is a licensed acupuncturist with a Master’s Degree in Counseling psychology. She is also a Registered Polarity Practitioner with a specialty in Cranial Sacral technique.
Me and the River
Grey morning in the meadow Thinking about me and the river. That feeling of moving further away From the river and wanting to go towards it. My feet moving hesitantly- Indecision is that killer that grabs me Unawares and sinks its teeth into my resolve When I let my mind move into Past and future confusion. Water, nourishment, sunlight- Perhaps a couple of wild geese Resting from their journey. Right and left feet not of one mind Sours the day. To my right I hear him leaping Through the fields-majestic antlers soaring As if to pick oak galls from the trees and pierce acorns in their flight He is aware of me long before I return to the Presence of this golden brown rolling field Surrounded by pines and oaks. This place where hawks perch and deer graze Pushing up amongst the tar weed. Cold fills my nostrils As I ponder longing for sun and warmth Knowing that the heat inside me Is all I ever really have.
